The former basketball player who played eight professional years in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The 6’6″ swingman played two seasons of college basketball for McNeese State before venturing to Europe where he played in Finland, Lithuania and France. He is most notable for his time spent in Australia and New Zealand where he helped lead the Cairns Taipans to the 2011 Australian NBL Grand Final, and the Auckland Pirates to the 2012 New Zealand NBL championship.
Upon retiring from playing professionally overseas. Dorsey began coaching as an Assistant on the high school level in Lake Charles. Where he moved on to become Head Coach at a middle school where he helped change their program completely around. Now he’s focusing full time on mentoring the youth through the game of basketball.
Assistant Coach at Hamilton Christian Academy for 10 yrs now. Over the years, Coach Matthews has been in charge of the strength & conditioning and player development over at Hamilton and also with professional level players. In addition to his duties he’s also assist Coach Dorsey as basketball camp coordinator.
